I've been organizing my photos some at a time for about a week now and now I remember why I keep getting very little done! I just have to stop and stare at half of the pics. You see I've changed my user icon like three times or something, right? I'm looking at the screen caps from Monsoon and goddamn that boy is FIERCE. Yeah, I know half the squinting is probably due to sand and wind in the eyes, but the look works and he just looks all sorts of awesome and badass. Hmmm, I think we all need to watch Moonson again...

ETA: 1,268 pictures in 21 folders *facepalm, headdesk* I'm not finished organizing yet, though. I need a couple more sub-folders than what I already have. The question is, what the hell do I think I'm gonna do with all of these picture, 95% of which are of Bill? This is pathetic!

I've managed to save 500+ pictures and I've only been listening to this band since March. They're so photogenic, EVERY picture I see of them seems like one I should save. It's ridiculous.

I love the Monsoon video. The part where Bill's typing is gorgeous.

Bill is gorgeous in every part! :3 I was doing so well not saving any pics for the longest time and then there was one particularly pretty one and I was like a dog seeing something shiny. Had to have it.

And all was lost. I've been listening to them since early February. I've managed to hold off on saving photos for about a week or so now but only because I didn't want to save to many while I was organizing the ones that I already had.

GOD, BILL LOOKS X_x IN THAT VIDEO.

Girl....when you see how many pictures I have in JUST 5 incredibly DISORGANIZED folders...you'd have a heart attack...I need help. LIKE BIG TIME.

Bill kills me with his hotness. I'm actually writing to you in ghost form right now. I had to organize my photos; I started not being able to find stuff and that made me sad. :-(

I have:

Awards Red Carpet
Awards Win Photocall
Awards Other- subfolders are Schrei, Zimmer
Events Other
Other
Performances- subfolders are Schrei, Rette Mich, Zimmer
Photoshoots- same subfolders as above + Other
Television and Video Appearances
Magazines

I'm pissed because I have to add in a folder for Legs and Der Letzte Tag-era hair.

by teh way, how was your trip?

From: [identity profile] ayaneva.livejournal.com
It was ok. Bit of a let down because it was hyped up so much. I was expecting more, I guess. I'm not sure if I'm coming back to City Year next year as planned but I wrote a whole rambling LJ entry about that. New Hampshire is COLD. I had on my bomber and a raincoat at the same time and I was still cold. It was cool to meet and speak to our fellow corps members from South Africa. 20 people from the 200 strong corps flew 19 hours to attend the conference.

I swear, those guys are my age but everything that they say is just so wise and insightful. I guess because of everything that South Africa has been through and they're the youth on the leading edge of stabilizing a democracy that's only 13 years old and helping to equalize the society. Just think, they were all old enough to remember Apartheid before democracy! That'd be like me being alive to remember segregation before the Civil Rights Act was passed. It was really inspiring and I think that's the highlight of the whole trip.

gah... i hate cold... i can stand ANY type of heat, but when i'm cold i just shut down completely.
and wow... you met some smart people there. it's always nice to meet those kinds of people. they really get you motivated. i wish i could go on a trip, especially since school's over now :(
hey, i don't remember you telling me, what's your job? o.O;

I'm a first year corps member for City Year Greater Philadelphia. Here, it's easier to read the blurb at the link than have me try to explain it:

http://www.whyiserve.com/

I didn't actually work in a school this past year, though. I was on an office-based team that planned all of the site's large scale physical service events. There are 17 sites so far, with one being in South Africa and Lousiana being the newest. LA is opening up next year and they want to go for Miami after that.

Before City Year I did a semester of grad school (BORING) and before that I just held down an office job as a research assistant for 7 months or so. Bleh. I know I seem flighty but I just get ancy and I HAVE to move on to something new because the alternative, staying put and dealing, produces disastrous results. It's just best that I not sit still. EVER.

your job seems pretty interesting...
and be careful about the not-staying-too-long thing. it may affect you in the future. people don't want to hire somebody that they know will be leaving in a few months.
[lol, you probably know this already. i just feel smart today ^-^;;]

lol Yeah, I know. It's always good advice, though and I need reminding sometimes. :-)

So far, I'm lucky that I've been able to swing the whole "hate it, leave it" thing but that's what has me a little worried. I'm afraid I won't find something that I like and then because it looks bad to continually jump from one job to the next, I'll just get stuck in something that I hate but I'll feel like I have to stay there for stability. I'm trying to be really, really careful while hunting for jobs right now because if I'm going to apply for something, I have to make sure I'm doing it because I think I'll love it not because I know I can do it. I just wish I really could be nomadic and just try out new things for as long as I wanted until I found the shoe that fit just right. :-/

yea, i'm like that too. i like trying out a LOT of things and then just picking one that i really liked at the end. unfortunately, time doesn't wait for us [XP leb die sekunde just popped into my head] and we're being forced to decide on the spot.

i've been doing some reading about... stuff. people and life in general, and the whole 'state of mind = success in life?' idea. what that's left me with is that
1. if you do something you love, most probably you'll be successful. [this also includes normal stuff like maybe cooking? o.O]
2. you can't force fate. you'll find something when you ARE ready, not when you THINK you're ready. you'll know if something's right for you the minute you read about it. just follow your instincts. [i've got this fate idea stuck in my head pretty much since i learned how to walk]
3. sometimes the answer is RIGHT in front of you. the only thing is that you're underestimating what you can do with it.

heh... i feel weird giving you this kind of advice. ah well. i hope i'm helping? D:

No, don't feel weird, I appreciate the advice! I do need to stop forcing things. What's funny is that my sister told me almost the same thing tonight when I was talking to her about what to do. I guess if two people are saying the same thing, I should probably listen, huh? I'm just going to lay off worrying about jobs until this week is over. I'm going to enjoy my corps graduation tomorrow, finish up any remaining work from this year for a few hours of Friday, enjoy the weekend, and then Monday I'll see what comes.

I've embraced Bill's Schrei-era motto, "Live the second." It's such a nice, brief way of saying "Cherish every moment and live life to the fullest."

From: [identity profile] sparks2303.livejournal.com
yup, it sounds so easy when he says it.. but i'm more of a tom person... i really have to think everything 5 times before making a decision. i'm currently trying to correct that though. i really don't like living like this..

From: [identity profile] ayaneva.livejournal.com
I used to over-think things but it's caused me a shitload of trouble in years past. I've had an amazing 10 months but I never would have joined City Year if I'd thought about the decision as much as I usually do. I would've talked myself out of joining. Instead I made my decision, stopped second guessing myself, and went for it.

wow, congrats on not thinking!
for me thinking would be worse than a drug addiction. it's like there's 2 of me! my brain and... well, me.
olivia got into a depression because of her brain, and hey, i should know by now that it's not good. ah well.
i'm gonna 'train' over the summer to not think ^-^
oh that reminds me! still interested in olivia? =D

lolz Yeah, I'm definitely not above stalking people that I like. I've gotten pretty good at it, actually. XD

haha. y'know.. stalking is actually not good for you. my friend said something about not living your own life.. but um.. 3-4 hrs per day won't do much, right? >_>
besides, we learn from other people's lives, so it's not aaaaall bad.
*hangs on really tight to tokio hotel folder*

'observing human behaviour in order to understand people better'.

i actually DO like watching people and observing their behaviours. that's the only thing that's keeping me alive while going shopping with mom. psychology is a hobby of mine, but my friend wants to make a living out of that and it makes me feel guilty that people say i'm better than her. D: i'm not even that interested in it! they could at least not compare us. -sigh-
