Need to make a celebratory post...
DADT HAS BEEN REPEALED AND NOW OBAMA WILL SIGN THE REPEAL!!!
I can't believe his plan worked! After the first failure, I was really skeptical if going through Congress would work but it did. It's not as shaky as a court ruling because it's actualfax law and that was the goal, IMO. Brown vs Board was just a court ruling and the implications and results of the ruling were so distasteful to some that many of the resulting changes have now been challenged and rolled back. It's not the victory most think it is. That won't happen with the repeal of DADT. It's law so they can't roll back the changes unless they change the law again and they won't have the votes for that. I doubt they'd even try with the military report stating that there is minimal risk in ending the policy. The court can not always be relied upon for lasting change but if you can change the LAW in your favor, that's far more solid and lasting.
My two cents.
