I think the following joke is absolutely hysterical, how much of a nerd does this make me? The debate is over whether fans should call the new Trek movie Star Trek XI or not.
----------
sean4000: No more 11 or XI, I agree. Since the film takes place in an alternate time line the film should be called:
STAR TREK
Any trace-preserving quantum operation is the composition of an isometric embedding and a partial trace. This suggests that the many worlds formalism can account for this very general class of transformations in exactly the same way that it does for simple measurements.jerhanner: You didn't carry the two.

Srsly, I LOL'd irl. For the record, I'm just calling it Star Trek XI because it's the eleventh movie and it just gets too confusing otherwise. Part of me says we
should re-number to differentiate between the TOS timeline and the...er, new movie timeline. But see that's the problem: What do you title the new movie(s)? I think the writers must have run into the same problem, hence
Star Trek: The Movie, which was only supposed to be the working title but they seem to have just given up and made it the actual
real title.
I can't blame them on that one. There's really nothing else you can call it.
Star Trek: No not that one, the other one
Star Trek: Like the original series but not
Star Trek: Alternate Universe
Star Trek: The beginning (again)
Star Trek: Reboot
Star Trek: We couldn't think of a name that wouldn't have the ghost of Gene Roddenberry haunting us forever
