As for my lj, I just like having a place to rant and rave about stuff. Just getting it out of my head and onto virtual-paper is really what it's about for me, so it's ok if no one visits it. Writing in it is more therapeutic for me than anything. That's why a lot of the entries seem kind of jumbled and jump around a lot. It's the equivalent of being able to climb on top of a hill and just scream out all of your grievances and express your emotions to both everybody and nobody in particular.

Oh, totally understand this.....I do it all the time, I just do it on wordpad and then either save it or don't bother with it and delete it.
