30-ish. Ignored by 30-ish customers today.

:-(

This is just getting depressing now.

In happier news, I got an Obama sign! There was a group of Obama supporters skiving off work and they came walking by yelling, "Philly For Obama!" I asked one of the ladies if she had to pay for the sign (you have to buy signs, buttons, etc) and she said no. I'm like, "ORLY?!" and she offered to give me her sign. Of course I took it and carefully rolled it up and put it in my bag. Now I just need some tape to put it up in the window. I just loved that the whole crowd of Obama supporters is mixed, no matter what part of the country you go to. Different ages, races, genders. It's beautiful! It made the day much better. :-D

I'll go to the Germantown campaign office on Saturday and buy some buttons. The sticker is peeling off my bag.

"I'm asking you to believe. Not just in my ability to bring about real change in Washington... I'm asking you to believe in yours."

-Barack Obama

People like me are pinning all of our hopes on this man. Maybe it's not the most sane thing to do and maybe we're setting ourselves up for disappointment but what else do we have left? We need someone to carry our voices, unify them, and he's the only one now who's in the position to do so.

The only hope we have is change. People always ask, "Change what? What's this change? We want specifics." Obama does give specifics, but really, do you need to be specific? EVERYTHING needs to change. If you can't figure out what he means by "change," then you're fucking oblivious. Just look around you and you'll have your answer. Look at what he's done in the past and you'll see that he "gets" it. He knows what needs to change, he's seen it first hand. Those of us who understand the "change" of which he speaks, we "get" it. We've seen it. You don't even have to have experienced it personally, you just have to see it. Know it. Accept that certain things are horribly fucked up and understand why they are the way they are. We know what he means and if you're paying attention, you will too.

And no, I won't apologize if I've offended anyone. I'm in a horrible mood at the moment and I need to say what I need to say.

I should be grateful for this awful job. Sometimes, I need a reason to keep fighting. When a reason comes along, you MUST embrace it, capture the energy of the anger and use it for GOOD. Use it to effect POSITIVE CHANGE. So I'm going to be angry in a positive way. I'm going to go help Obama for the next two Saturdays and we're gonna get the delegates that we need to seal the deal. The PEOPLE own this campaign. Literally. Obama is US and we are HIM.

Let's get some shit done and make this happen.

Obama is officially the second most awesome person in the entire world, the most awesome being Al Gore, of course. I'll die of joy if this happens. Make Gore head of the EPA. It's perfect!

Obama Says He'd Hire Gore if Elected

WALLINGFORD, Pa. (April 2) - Democrat Barack Obama said Wednesday he talks regularly with former vice president Al Gore and would consider putting him in a Cabinet-level position or higher.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Wednesday that if he's elected, he would consider giving former Vice President Al Gore a Cabinet-level position or higher to address global warming. Obama said he already talks to Gore, seen above in March, regularly.

A woman at a town hall asked the Illinois senator if elected president would he consider tapping the former vice president for his Cabinet, or an even higher level office, to address global warming.

"I would," Obama said. "Not only will I, but I will make a commitment that Al Gore will be at the table and play a central part in us figuring out how we solve this problem. He's somebody I talk to on a regular basis. I'm already consulting with him in terms of these issues, but climate change is real. It is something we have to deal with now, not 10 years from now, not 20 years from now."

The only position higher than a Cabinet post is vice president. While Obama seemed to dangle that possibility in his answer Wednesday, he has repeatedly said it is far too early to discuss potential vice presidents because the nomination has not been won.

It is also not clear that Gore, who had the job for eight years under Bill Clinton, would even want to be a vice president again.

Since leaving the White House, Gore has gone on to become one of the world's leading voices for combating the greenhouse gases blamed for global warming. His work earned him a shared Nobel Prize.

Now very popular among Democrats, Gore is perhaps the single most coveted endorsement up for grabs in the long-running competition between Obama and rival Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The relationship between Gore and the Clintons became strained after Gore limited Bill Clinton's campaigning on his behalf in the 2000 presidential race which elected George W. Bush.

Obama said he would use Gore to help forge a cap-and-trade system for carbon emissions designed to lower pollution.

The Illinois senator cautioned that such a system could mean an increase in electricity bills from power companies that rely on coal-burning, and that some of the money generated from a cap-and-trade system may be used in the beginning to help lower income or fixed income customers with those bills.

He also called on individuals to do their part to lower energy consumption.

"All of us are going to have to change our habits. We are a wasteful culture," he said.

Using compact fluorescent light bulbs, energy efficient appliances, and unplugging power chargers when they're not in use are relatively simple solutions, he said.

"Those kinds of simple steps, if everybody takes them, can drastically reduce our energy consumption."
