DAYTONA 500!!
Go Dale Jr.!
And let's hear it for Boris Said!
And Toyota! It'll get better Toyota, I promise. Mikey's team didn't mean to screw up and it wasn't Mikey's fault anyway (ok, so he probably knew about it, but whatev). Don't be mad with him.
ETA: Woot! Man, that was one helluva race. Too bad Mark Martin didn't win, I was rooting for him. However, I'm happy for Happy Harvick because I he and Delana are fantastic and he won fair and square. I would've been happy with any winner as long as Kyle Busch didn't win. Gah. Too bad for Smoke and Kurt wrecking- sucks for them.
I am pissed as hell that Jr. got wrecked, but it was only a matter of time before that mad pack started wrecking. And geez, how about poor Clint Boyer?! He finished the race upside down AND on fire. Glad he was alright.
Other good things: Boris Said got a top 20 finished and Juan Pablo Montoya finished on the lead lap. How 'bout next time Montoya's team gives him a car that isn't crap? Grrr. Yay for pack racing! I know all of the drivers, save for Jr. hate it, but it's awesome to watch...just as long as no one gets injured too badly. Matt Kenseth, you're fantastic. Racing with a smoking, sheet metal losing, wobbly-ass, scraped up car and you kept the pedal to the metal baby!
In fact, let's hear it for all of the drivers for some hella good racing and, for once, NASCAR, for not calling a caution until Happy and Martin crossed the finish. Yeah, it would've ensured that Mark Martin won had the caution been called when they started wrecking and I really wanted Martin to win, but we would've been denied a fantastic and thrilling photo finish. It's just lame to finish under caution. I'm all for green-white-checker.
The commercials were fantastic too. How much do I love the new Kasey Khane commercial with the three ladies. He's finally getting an ass and goddamn, he looked hot. Ok, he always looks hot, but particularly in that green shirt. And how 'bout Jr. and the Mad Max road warrior Budweiser commercial? That was great. lol There were too many good commercials to list.
Other bad things: Toyota, get back to the drawing board, cuz your engines suck ass. I'll give you few mulligans, though, since you are just getting started with Cup.
In the end: This was the most exciting Daytona 500 that I've watched since Jr. won and it's kind of fitting that Kevin Harvick and RCR won at the track that killed Earnhardt Sr. with the team that was once The Intimidator's. I'll never stop being sad over that. :-( He was my driver, but now I've got Little E and I love him more than EVAR!
