Finally watched Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Good movie! Pacing was a bit slower than I would have liked but the overall story was much tighter than the previous movie, which is good. Loved seeing the #88 Transformer. Too cool! But then when the #88 inevitably switches sponsors, the movie will look dated. LOL
Also, I miss Meghan Fox. Her character is way better as a love interest than that other useless girl they now have. At least her character could actually fight and did more than just yell "SAAAAAAAM!!!!" while standing around helplessly. I was desperately hoping the new girl would be killed off by a Decepticon by the end of it.
That said, I think the second Transformers movie is still my favorite, despite the wobbly script and plot holes. Overall I prefer the Orci & Kurtzman scripts, as I feel they fit the Transformers franchise a bit better. I mean, it's a movie based on a plastic action figure toy and has giant transforming robots. It's not supposed to be deep, it's supposed to have shit exploding and epic one-on-one battles. If that's the entire movie with no plot to speak of, I'm totally OK with that.
