Writer's Block: Desert island

Only three? Every book I read makes a change. The fact that books even exist has changed my life. However, if I must pick three...

A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking comes to mind. First major scientific work that I read when I was in middle school and it got me interested in physics.

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. A critical examination of society with a result different than what the author actually intended. I find that hilarious! This is probably my all time favorite book.

Hiroshima by John Hersey. The first time I realized that the United States wasn't all sparkles and ponies. I was in middle school and it was a bitter pill to swallow. I was angry that anyone would dislike the US and it took me years to understand it.

The one thing that definitely changed my life the most wasn't even a book. It was Star Trek: The Next Generation. Gene Roddenberry shaped my entire worldview.
